– an extension of Andrew Wommack Ministries.
Charis Bible College (CBC) is a practical training school founded in 1994 by Andrew Wommack. Andrew is a Bible teacher with a profound message emphasizing God’s unconditional love and grace. His television program, the Gospel Truth, broadcasts Monday to Friday across around the world, changing the way the body of Christ sees God. In Zimbabwe you can join Andrew on FAITH 10:30am; God TV 7:30am and 1:00pm; Daystar Network 6:30pm.
When Andrew launched CBC, he wanted it to be more than just a school of academics. He wanted a practical training program that would combine the academic study of God’s Word with practical ministry experience. CBC is fulfilling that vision.
The Lord had imprinted 2 Timothy 2:2 on Andrew’s heart. Paul was writing to Timothy and told him to take the things that he had learned and commit them to faithful men who would be able to teach others. Andrew felt frustrated in his attempts to accomplish this until 1993 when the Lord showed him a groundbreaking way to conduct a Bible college that would do more than just impart knowledge. This college would prepare men and women for ministry with a unique blend of the teaching of God’s Word and practical “on-the-job” training.
Andrew gathered together a great teaching staff that shared his vision, and Charis Bible College (originally Colorado Bible College) opened in 1994, graduating its first class of 33 in 1996. Now, there are over four hundred students attending its Colorado campus and nearly seven hundred more attending via Online and Correspondence classes! The vision to train others didn’t just stop with Charis Bible College of Colorado. In 1997, Charis Bible College-U.K. was founded in South Chard, England, and is presently located in Walsall. Since then, schools have been started in Russia, Northern Ireland, Argentina, India, The Netherlands, Germany, Hong Kong, South Africa, Poland, Mexico, Uganda and Switzerland. The first U.S. extension school opened in Chicago, IL in 2003. Its success spurred the establishment of schools in Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Jacksonville, FL; Gardner & Plymouth; Dyer, IN, and Kansas City, MO. At present CBC has been extended to Zimbabwe, which opened in October 2011 in Harare under graduates who have completed their training in the U.K. and Russia.
Many attend to answer a call from God and prepare for ministry. Others come just to develop their own personal relationship with the Lord and help loved ones and friends close to them. Whatever the motive, it's a life-changing experience.
